Gallus: January 2015 – March 2016

A good year and a half has passed since we last received a message from the female Bearded Vulture Gallus. Now we have received this photo from Thomas Gries showing a Bearded Vulture defecating. As Bearded Vultures have feathered feet it is rarely possible to see the foot rings as clearly as in this picture.

The red ring on the right and the golden ring on the left leg clearly revealed that this is Gallus. Furthermore, Thomas Gries was able to take pictures of the magnificent, now 4-year-old, female Bearded Vulture. It is nice to see that she has an almost white head. So it will hopefully not be too long before Gallus finds a partner and settles down.
