Madagaskar: March to May 2011
The little Bearded Vulture chick Madagaskar hatched on the 6th March 2011. The first three months of life for this valuable young bird were spent at the breeding station Guadalentin in southern Spain. However, due to the fact that the young man was supposed to be released in the Calfeisental, Canton St. Gallen, he undertook a long journey at only three months old. On the 26th May, the young bird Madagaskar, who already weighed in at nearly 5kg, was delivered to the Nature and Animal Park Goldau so he could get to know the two female Bearded Vultures Tamina and Scadella who would be also be released on the 11th June.
